The Barnesbury Cycling Club are continuously promoting Go-ride racing at Gallagher park, Bedlington. The event consists of an under twelve's race and a youth race (12-16 years).
For those not familiar with Go Ride Racing events they are entry level competition, designed for people have not raced before. Therefore they are an ideal place to start. So if you have youngsters keen to start biking why not come along and have a go. The regulations state you can use any type of bike as long as it is in good working condition. You will need a helmet. These are off road events, for people not familiar with cyclo cross. Further details available from the British Cycling website. You don't have to be a BC member to compete. The events complement what the Barnesbury are already doing in Gallagher Park.

We are working with schools across the area to give children a chance to learn about cycling and gain confidence on the bike. We are offering a series of events at your child’s school and hope that they will enjoy the experience enough to want to join our club. We will then continue the coaching activity at regular evening, weekend and school holiday sessions as well as providing a range of social events and a chance to compete for those that are interested in joining us.
We are also working with partners to provide permanent cycling facilities in the area and sponsors to allow us to offer more benefits for new young riders.
We believe this is the start of something big and invite you and your children to be part of it.
